Scope and who we are
This Privacy Policy explains how SocialBridge AI ("SocialBridge," "we," "us," or "our") handles personal information when you use our websites, applications, roleplay tools, clinician features, and related services (the "Services").
SocialBridge provides social-communication practice and preparation tools. This policy applies to information we collect directly and information processed for us by service providers.
Information we collect
Account and profile information
We collect information such as your name, email address, age range, country or region, communication goals, practice preferences, accessibility settings, and account role. If you sign in with Google, we receive the account information Google makes available for authentication.
Practice and communication content
We process the content you choose to provide, including roleplay messages, generated responses, session feedback, scripts, preparation notes, saved phrases, communication cards, information about people or situations, and optional confidence ratings. This content may include sensitive or health-related information if you choose to enter it.
SocialBridge is not a HIPAA covered service and is not designed to store protected health information (PHI). Please do not enter medical-record details or health information tied to an identifiable person; use roles or general descriptions when practicing health-related conversations.
Voice information
When you use voice input, your audio clip is sent to our transcription provider so it can be converted to text. SocialBridge does not intentionally retain the original audio clip after the transcription request completes. The resulting transcript may be stored as part of your practice session. When you request spoken output, the text to be spoken is sent to our text-to-speech provider.
Usage, security, and transaction information
We collect first-party product events, session dates, feature usage, device and browser information, IP address, security logs, support communications, subscription status, and transaction identifiers. Payment card details are handled by payment providers and are not stored directly by SocialBridge.
How we use information
We use personal information to:
- Create, authenticate, secure, and support your account.
- Provide roleplay, rewriting, script, preparation, transcription, and speech features.
- Save the content and preferences you ask us to remember.
- Personalize practice difficulty, tone, feedback style, and accessibility settings.
- Process subscriptions and maintain entitlement records.
- Detect abuse, investigate errors, protect users, and maintain service reliability.
- Understand product usage and improve the Services using aggregated or de-identified insights.
- Comply with law, enforce our Terms, and protect the rights and safety of users and others.
We do not sell personal information or use practice content for targeted advertising.
How AI processes your content
SocialBridge sends the instructions and conversation context needed to generate a response to OpenAI through its business API. Voice clips are also sent to OpenAI for transcription. OpenAI states that API inputs and outputs are not used to train its models by default unless the API customer opts in. Provider retention can vary by endpoint and account configuration.
Text selected for spoken playback is sent to ElevenLabs to generate audio. We do not use your practice content to train a SocialBridge-owned general-purpose AI model. We configure providers for service delivery and restrict their use of content through the available business settings and contractual terms.
Please avoid entering information you do not want processed by these providers. AI can make mistakes; review generated content before relying on it or using it in a real conversation. Read our AI and medical disclaimer for more.
Clinician connections and shared content
Connecting with a clinician does not automatically share all of your information. You choose which categories to share, such as session activity, confidence ratings, transcripts, real-world outcomes, or communication cards. You can revoke a sharing permission, and future clinician access to that category will stop.
A clinician may separately keep information they obtained with your permission under their own professional, legal, or record-retention obligations. Contact the clinician directly regarding records maintained outside SocialBridge.
How long we keep information
Our retention depends on the kind of information and why it is needed:
- Account and profile: while your account is active. When you delete your account, it and everything it contains are deleted right away.
- After account deletion: we keep one thing — a one-way, keyed hash of your email address. It can't be turned back into your email; it only lets us recognize the same address if it signs up again, so the free trial is offered once per person. We also keep billing records as described below, and analytics and error logs with your account identifier removed.
- Roleplays, transcripts, scripts, preparation notes, and cards: until you delete the item where that control is available or your account is deleted.
- Original voice clips: not intentionally stored by SocialBridge after the transcription request completes.
- Authentication and security records: for the period reasonably needed to secure accounts, investigate misuse, and meet legal obligations.
- Analytics: only as long as needed for product measurement, after which records may be deleted, aggregated, or de-identified.
- Billing and support records: for the period required for transaction, tax, accounting, dispute, and legal purposes.
Deleted information may remain temporarily in encrypted backups until those backups are overwritten through their ordinary cycle. Service providers may retain limited records under their own legal, security, and abuse-prevention requirements.
Your choices and data requests
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, obtain a copy of, or delete personal information. You can update many profile and sharing settings inside SocialBridge, and you can delete your account yourself at any time: on the web under Account → Delete account, or in the app under You → Account. Deletion is immediate and permanent. To request an export or correction, or if you can't sign in to delete your account, email support@getsocialbridge.com from the address associated with your account.
We may need to verify your identity before completing a request. We may retain limited information when required by law, needed to resolve disputes, protect security, or demonstrate that a request was fulfilled.
California privacy rights
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA/CPRA), gives you the right to know and access the personal information we collect, to request deletion, to request correction, and to receive a copy of your information. The categories we collect and how we use and share them are described in the sections above.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights. To make a request, email support@getsocialbridge.com from the address associated with your account. You may use an authorized agent, and we may need to verify your identity before we respond.
Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information, including encrypted network transport, access controls, secure password hashing, scoped clinician permissions, and audit records for sensitive access. No online service can guarantee absolute security.
If you believe your account or information may be at risk, contact us promptly at support@getsocialbridge.com.
Age eligibility
SocialBridge accounts are currently intended for people age 13 and older. If you are under the age of majority where you live, a parent or legal guardian should review and approve your use of the Services. We do not currently offer parent-managed accounts for children under 13.
If we learn that we collected personal information from a child under 13 without the authorization required by law, we will take steps to delete it. A parent or guardian can contact us at support@getsocialbridge.com.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy as SocialBridge changes. We will update the date and version above and provide additional notice when a change materially affects how we handle personal information.
Questions or privacy requests can be sent to support@getsocialbridge.com.
